Free Shredding Day a Huge Success
In an effort to combat identity theft, on Saturday, October 9, 2004, Schaap Records Management and KeyBank, in cooperation with the Town of Colonie Police, provided free shredding for the general public. Individuals were invited to bring up to 100 pounds of paper to our Albany facility and watch it being shredded in a matter of seconds. Over 10,800 pounds of paper were destroyed for 240 people!
Special thanks to the Albany Times Union for helping to publicize our free public service event, and to the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police for encouraging the public to take advantage of the offer.
